The BOB Exams Conditions & Exam Times

Students who are qualified for the BOB exams have to confirm the following conditions in their STEM student panel starting tomorrow.

• The exam will be conducted in English only.
• The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
• There will be a total of 30 questions in the exam.
• For every incorrect answer, 1 point will be deducted.
• Only the top 3 students will receive medals and awards.
• In case of tie scores, the participant who finishes the exam first will be given priority.
• The number of exam sessions and their respective GMT hours are limited. Please refer to the table link provided for more details.
• A Zoom connection with 2 cameras is mandatory. Keep an eye on announcements for further instructions.
• Exams will be recorded via Zoom.
• Ensure that your display name contains only your STEM ID. Any other names or information will result in exam cancellation.
• All exam conditions must be strictly followed as announced.
• If you qualify for the BOB exam in multiple categories, you can only choose one. Once chosen, you cannot switch categories.
• Once you decline to take the BOB Exam, you won't be able to change your decision. Please think carefully before confirming.

Exam times according to the GMT

Additional Notes:

• Exam results of participants without a Zoom connection with 2 cameras or those with incorrect display names will be canceled.
• The exams will be held at specific times mentioned. There won't be any alternative dates or timings.
• Make sure you have a stable internet connection as there won't be any makeup exams or changes in exam timing due to technical issues.

The results of the FINAL Exams in the Math, Science, Tech & Eng Categories have been uploaded.

Dear Participants

Regarding the results of the participants in grades 1 to 5
The exam processes for the participants in grades 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have been completed. We congratulate all of our students once again.

All students in grades 3, 4 and 5 are eligible to participate in the Grand Final. The top 3 students in grades 3, 4 and 5 have received Grand Final discounts of 75%, 50% and 25%, respectively.

Grand Final Discounts for the participants in grades 6 to 11
Grand Final discounts for students in grades 6 to 11 are determined based on their performance in the BOB exams. Please do not forget to follow the announcements.

Regarding Unavailable Results on the Panel
A couple of exam results may not appear on some students' panels due to the algorithm used for analysis and cheating detection. These students are required to request their exam results via email. Following a form completion about the incident. The necessary information will be provided via email, and the results will be delivered accordingly.

ABOUT THE STEM CODING RESULTS

Dear Coding Participants,

We are excited to announce that the results of the Coding Final Exam held on 11 February 2024 via the Codementum platform are ready now.

Firstly, the top 3 places will be announced via the STEM Olympiad social media accounts.

Exam reports will be accessible through the STEM student panels once all controls are finalized. Please stay tuned for further announcements. Thank you for your patience.

Regarding the 9th Challenge Issue for students in grades 5 through 12:

In the Advanced Level, approximately half of the participants encountered difficulties and became stuck on the 9th challenge, while the remaining participants completed the challenges without issues. Following Codementum's investigation and response, it is presumed that the problem may be related to the device's caches utilized during the exam or the specific browser being used.

As the STEM Olympiad committee, we have carefully re-evaluated this situation and decided the following results:

• Participants who experienced difficulties and got stuck on the 9th challenge were evaluated separately from others and ranked accordingly.
• It's important to note that speed (time spent), a crucial criterion in the competition, has remained a primary determining factor. Total points and collected stars have also been taken into account.
• As a result, the total number of top 3 students at the advanced level, which was previously supposed to be 21, has now been increased to 42.
• Additionally, these 21 students (top 3 in each grade) will receive original medals and certificates for their performance in the first 8 Challenges, which will be sent to them free of charge.
• Furthermore, these students will be eligible for discounts at the Grand Final (75%, 50%, 25%).

At the STEM Olympiad, we place great importance on student motivation and take our responsibilities seriously. We are pleased to provide medals, certificates, and Grand Final discounts as tokens of recognition.

- Time management
- Tab error test

Please do not forget:

- After pressing the start button, the session will close within 60 minutes. You have one opportunity to enter the simulation. Please use the device with which you intend to take the actual exam to access the simulation.
- If your internet connection is disrupted or your device runs out of battery during the simulation, you can return and continue from the question where you left off. However, the countdown will continue.

These simulation exams are only available for the participants who register and pay for the exams on 04 February 2024.
The simulation exams will remain accessible until 02 ​February 2024 (Friday), 18:00 in GMT time.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CODING EXAM on 28 January 2024

We would like to provide you with some important information about the Coding Category Exam, scheduled for 28 January 2024 (Sunday).

1. Participation in the exams requires having made the necessary payment.
2. The exam platform will be accessible for duration of 24 hours, in accordance with the GMT time zone.
   You can determine your exam time based on your country's local time using the links provided below.
   For Countries Located to the East of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
   For Countries Located to the West of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
   
3. Access to the Coding Exam is only possible through the STEM Student Panel. Please do not try to log in through Codementum’s website during the exam.
4. There will be no multiple-choice questions in the coding exam. Participants in this category have the flexibility to use any of the programming languages among Block, Python, or JavaScript.
5. Participants will be required to write codes in order to complete the challenges. The format of the exam will be similar to the challenges done in the Codementum portal.
6. There are a total of 30 challenges to complete.
7. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
8. The evaluation criterion for the Qualification Round is to complete at least 10 challenges out of 30.
9. It is essential to have a functional webcam (internal or external) and a reliable internet connection to connect to Zoom. Each participant's Zoom Display Name must correspond to his/her STEM Student ID.
10. If you accidentally close the window or leave the platform due to a technical issue (such as a power or internet outage), you can log in again through your STEM Student Panel and continue where you left off. However, time will continue to elapse.
11. Capturing images of challenges within the Codementum portal and sharing them is strictly prohibited.

Important Information about 1st Qualification Exams

Dear Students and Supervisors,

We would like to provide information and reminders about the upcoming STEM Olympiad 1st Qualification Exams.

The Coding Category Exam will take place on 26 November 2023, Sunday, while the Math, Science, and Technology & Engineering Category Exams will be held online on 3 December 2023, Sunday.

Qualification Exams will be open for 24 hours according to the GMT Time zone. (The conditions vary for the Final and BOB Round Exams). Time zones for countries will be announced in the announcements section of the olympiad’s website.

Simulation exams for Math, Science, and Tech. & Eng. categories will be available from 27 November to 1 December. Practicing the simulation exam is crucial for students, offering familiarity with the exam environment, ensuring a smoother experience, and allowing them to test the functionality of the interface before the actual test.

Important Reminders:

1. Students intending to take the first qualification exams must complete their payments.
2. Students enrolled in the Coding category, having completed their payments, are recommended to access the Codementum portal through the STEM Student panel and practice the challenges within the Codementum Studio.

4. The exam conditions and ZOOM program guidelines for the Coding Category will be announced on 23 November 2023 and for other categories on 27 November on the STEM Olympiad homepage.

6. We strongly advise students and teachers to verify their email addresses in order to effectively receive emails and notifications. You have the option to update your emails through the My Profile menu in the student or teacher panels.
