GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR EXAMS & CATEGORIES

  1. The International STEM Olympiad consists of 3 stages: Qualification Exams, Final Round Exams and Best of the Best (BOB) Global Round Exams, all conducted online.
  2. Participants may register for multiple categories.
  3. Students who achieve the minimum required scores in the Qualification Round advance to the Final Round.
  4. Students in the top 15% of the Final Round (Math & Science categories) qualify for the BOB Global Round.
  5. A separate payment of 20 € is required for each category and exam chosen in the Qualification Round.
  6. Payments are final and non-refundable once completed.
  7. Students who are unable to take the exam for any reason will not be offered make-up exams or refunds. There will be no refund for the missed exam.
  8. Participation in the Final Round and BOB Global Round is free of charge for qualified participants.
  9. Exam dates and times should be checked prior to category selection and payment.
  10. Exams are monitored through a camera system integrated into the exam platform. Students must use a device with an active, functioning camera throughout the exam.
  11. The Qualification and Final Round exams require a single camera connection, whereas the BOB exams require connections with 2 separate cameras.
  12. All exam activity will be recorded. Any detected cheating will result in disqualification and cancellation of exam results.
  13. If a student fails to keep the camera on during the exam and ranks among the top 3, the position will be transferred to the next eligible student.
  14. All exams are conducted via the STEM Student Panel. No additional exam links will be sent via email.
  15. Qualification and Final Exam Languages:
    Math and Science Categories: Available in English, Spanish, French, Russian, Azerbaijani and Turkish.
    Technology & Engineering Category: Available only in English.
  16. BOB Exam Language: The exam will be conducted only in English.
  17. The use of calculators, books, printed materials and dictionaries is strictly prohibited during the exam.
  18. Opening any browser tab other than the exam tab will trigger a notification to the exam center and a warning will appear on the screen. Such actions may result in the cancellation of your exam results.
  19. The use of AI tools to answer exam questions is strictly prohibited. The exam center employs advanced monitoring and analysis to detect irregular or AI-generated responses. Any attempt to use AI assistance will result in the immediate cancellation of exam results and disqualification from the Olympiad. 

QUALIFICATION ROUND EXAMS

  1. The Olympiad is open to all students in the grades stated below:
    -> Math: Grades 1-12
    -> Science: Grades 1-12
    -> Technology & Engineering: Grades 6-11
  2. There are no age restrictions. Students must register according to their current grade level, not school enrollment year.

  4. The qualification exams will be held ONLINE, on 2 alternative (optional) dates to increase accessibility. Schools and students have the option to select one or both dates that best suit their schedule for participating in the Olympiad. Each exam requires a separate payment.
  5. The Qualification Round Exams are available in the following languages: English, Spanish, French, Russian, Turkish and Azerbaijani.
  6. The participation fee for each of the Math, Science and Technology & Engineering categories is 20 € per exam.
  7. The application cannot be canceled and there will be no refund after the payment is done.
  8. Students who qualify for the Final Round or the Best of the Best Round are exempt from any fees.
  9. If qualified, a student can continue to compete in all 3 categories in the Final Round. However, a student who qualifies for the Best of Best Global Round can continue in only 1 of these categories.
  10. Qualification exams will be open for 24 hours on the specified exam dates. Students can take exams from the categories of their choice at any time during this period.
  11. The Qualification Exams will be held on 23 November 2025 (first option) and 1 February 2026 (second option). Students may take the exams either once on their preferred date or twice across both days for each of the 3 categories.
  12. All participants will receive a digital Certificate of Participation in the Qualification Round Exams of the International STEM Olympiad.
  13. Students who receive the minimum required points according to the table below will be eligible to compete in the Final Round. 

FINAL ROUND EXAMS

  1. The Final Round Exams of the International STEM Olympiad will also be held ONLINE.
  2. Participation in the Final Round Exams is free of charge.
  3. Students may take the Final Exams in the same language in which they took the Qualification Round Exams (English, Spanish, French, Russian, Turkish or Azerbaijani).
  4. Students in the top 15% failing to keep the camera on during the exam will not be able to advance to the Best of the Best Global Round.
  5. All students who participate in the Final Round Exams of the International STEM Olympiad will receive a digital certificate of participation.  

Final Exam Results and Evaluation

For Math and Science Categories

  1. The top 3 students in each grade will be awarded a physical GOLD Medal and a Certificate of Achievement.
  2. The top 15% of the participants in the Final Round will be awarded a Digital Gold Medal Certificate and participants in Grades 6-12 will be eligible to take the Best of the Bests (BOB) Global Round Exams.
  3. Distribution Rates of Digital Medals and Digital Achievement Certificates for Each Grade and Category:
    - The top 15% of the participants will receive a Digital Gold Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The next 15-35% of the participants will receive a Digital Silver Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The next 35-60% of the participants will receive a Digital Bronze Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The next 60-80% of the participants will receive a Digital Honorable Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The last 80-100% of the participants will receive Digital Participation Certificates only. 

For Technology & Engineering Category

  1. The top 3 participants in each grade group (Group 1 -> Grades 6-7-8, Group 2 -> Grades 9-10-11) will be awarded a physical GOLD Medal and a Certificate of Achievement.
  2. Distribution Rates for Digital Medals and Digital Achievement Certificates by Group and Category:
    - The top 15% of the participants will receive a Digital Gold Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The next 15-35% of the participants will receive a Digital Silver Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The next 35-60% of the participants will receive a Digital Bronze Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The next 60-80% of the participants will receive a Digital Honorable Medal Certificate and a Digital Achievement Certificate.
    - The last 80-100% of the participants will receive Digital Participation Certificates only. 

BEST OF THE BESTS GLOBAL ROUND EXAMS

  1. The top 15% of the participants in the Math and Science categories in Grades 6-11 in the Final Round will be eligible to take the Best of the Bests (BOB) Global Round Exams.
  2. The BOB Global Round Exams in the Technology & Engineering category is not available.
  3. Students who qualify for the BOB Global Round in both (Math and Science) categories may participate in only one of these categories.
  4. THE BOB GLOBAL ROUND EXAMS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH.
  5. Students who qualify for the BOB Best Global Round must register for the exam. Students who do not register within the specified timeframe will be unable to take the exam and will forfeit any claims, even if they qualify.
  6. The BOB Global Round Exams are free of charge. No additional payment is required.
  7. The BOB Global Round Exams will be held ONLINE.
  8. Exams are monitored through the use of 2 cameras. If a student fails to keep both cameras on during the exam and ranks among the top 3, the position will be transferred to the next eligible student.
  9. Exams will take place in limited-time sessions, which may be scheduled in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on the country. The exam times for the BOB Global Round will be announced after the Final Round Exams.
  10. The top-ranking students in the Best of the Bests (BOB) Global Round Exams will be awarded the following physical medals, certificates and Grand Final discount awards:
    1st Places:
    -> BOB Physical Gold Medal
    -> BOB Achievement Certificate
    -> 75% Discount for the Grand Final
    2nd Places:
    -> BOB Physical Silver Medal
    -> BOB Achievement Certificate
    -> 50% Discount for the Grand Final
    3rd Places:
    -> BOB Physical Bronze Medal
    -> BOB Achievement Certificate
    -> 25% Discount for the Grand Final
    * The rest of participants will receive a BOB Digital PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE.
