  1. Should I provide my grade or education year when registering for the Olympiad? Is there any age restriction?

    - There is no age restriction. Students must register according to their current grades, not the school year in which they are enrolled. Click below to view the comparison table of education year and grade level by country.

  2. Why are there two exams for the Qualification Round?

    - The qualification round exams will be held on two different (optional) dates to ensure a high level of participation. Schools and students can select one or both dates that are most convenient for them to participate in the Olympiad.

  3. Can I take part in any of the Qualification Round Exams? Do I need to take part in both of the Qualification Round Exams to advance to the Final Round?

    - You can take part in any Qualification Round Exam you prefer or both exams in each of the four categories. It is not required to take part in both of the Qualification Round Exams to advance the Final Round.

  4. What are the requirements for advancing to the Final Round? How many finalists will be selected to participate in the Final Round?

    - All the participants who receive 50 or more points from Qualification Round Exams will be eligible to compete in the Final Round. There is no limit on the number of participants who can advance to the Final Round.

  5. Will only the PhET and Codementum platforms be used to ask questions in all categories? Should I only use these platforms to study for the exams?

    - These platforms are recommended as study resources for the participants. They will be used to ask questions about some of the subjects given in the subject list. These platforms might not cover all the subjects. To study all the subjects, you should apply to additional open sources. However, the participants in the Computer Science category are strongly recommended to study and practice the programs on the Codementum platform.

  6. Will I be able to see the questions and my answers once the exams are over?

    -​Unfortunately, this service is not accessible. The Main Team Organization GmbH owns the right to publish the questions and any digital distribution or publicity of them is prohibited. The student's log records are examined and shared with the student only if there is an objection or if technical problems are encountered.

  7. Will all of the exams be held at the same time? Is it possible to take the exam at any time during the day?

    - Qualification Exams will be open for 15 hours on the specified exam dates. Students can take exams from the categories of their choice at any time during this period. However, the Final Round Exams and the Best of Bests Global Round Exams will be held at a specific time which will be announced later.

  8. Can I retake the exam if I miss the exam due to an emergency or can I get my exam fee refunded?

    - Students who are unable to take the exam for any reason will not be offered an alternative or make-up exam. Those who miss or fail to take the exam will lose their right to participate. There will be no refund for the missed exam.

  9. Is it required to have a Zoom connection during the exam? Do I have to turn on the camera?

    - Yes, the camera must be turned on and a zoom connection must be established during the exams. The student ID must be used as the display name on Zoom. The profile pictures and zoom camera recordings of the students who score highest in the Final Round and Best of the Bests Global Round Exams will be controlled in particular. Students who do not have a camera or a zoom connection will be unable to receive this degree and award even if they receive the highest score in the exam. Zoom connection and exam entry can both be done on the same device during the Qualification and the Final Round Exams. There is a requirement to have two separate for Zoom connection in the Best of the Bests Global Round Exam.

  10. What if the internet connection is lost during the exam? Is it possible to reconnect? Will this result in a cancellation of the exam?

    - If your internet connection is lost during the exam, you can reconnect and continue the exam from where you left off. Your exam will reopen with all of your answers saved. Your exam will not be cancelled. If you cannot reconnect within the exam period, your exam will be evaluated according to the questions you answered. There is no option to retake the exam once it has been completed.

  11. Is it required to attend the online exams to participate in the Grand Final program?

    - You are not required to take the online exams to participate in the Grand Final program. However, taking these online exams is advised as a preparation for the Grand Final exams.
